Nora's visit

Our friend Nora came to visit last week! It was a visit that was in the making for a while but I think ended up being a perfect time to come! We had a fun time and Nora and I actually got to go skiing/snowboarding here in Flagstaff last weekend. It was my first time on the hill for over a year and although I was nervous that I forgot how to snowboard it all came back to me after one run! Mario and Cruz hung out in the lodge which was nice because they got to watch me slide down the hill on my bottom one time and it gave Cruz a taste of the years to come, skiing and hanging out at the ski lodge ... hopefully!! Since this was AZ skiing it was really nice and warm and some good soft spring skiing!!!
We took Nora with us to music class and much more. We were lucky enough to get a small hike in there followed by a nice photo shoot which you can see pictures of above!! I was lucky to have Nora around since I came down with Shingles ... yes people you do not have to be 60+ to get shingles. Nora was great and made us dinner and entertained Cruz and took him for walks so I could get some rest and go to all the doctor's appointments. We were sad to see her leave but I'm sure we'll see her again soon!
This past weekend Cruz got to go to his first Dodgers game. Abuelita and Abuelito came to visit and we all went to a game on Saturday afternoon. It was nice out and about 80 degrees with a nice breeze so it was a beautiful afternoon. Again it was so nice to have visitors to just rest up. Sad to see them go as usual but we'll see them again soon I know!
Cruz will be 5 months old tomorrow. Where does the time go!? He is sitting up well and standing strong and sleeping, well no he still doesn't sleep! I am hoping it's just a growth spurt and that soon we will be able to get more than 2 hours of sleep at a time but until then we'll take the 2 (or less) hours we get! Sleep deprived and always questioning if you're doing things right can get stressful but I wouldn't change any of it! As soon as I roll out of bed and into Cruz's room in the morning and see that smile my heart just melts. Love you Cruz!! XOXO

video killed the radio star

From day to day Cruz's favorite toys change. It could be something as simple as his hand or Sophie the giraffe or the "go to" blue dog! Lately his tongue has been winning out. He loves to stick it out and play with it. He'll stick it out and then blow bubbles and basically spit at you but after you see this video you'll know why it's so cute!! I was on the wrong side of him so the sun is kind of in the way but I was so happy he was actually doing it on camera I didn't want to push it!!

Cruz has really improved with his sitting. He is not as hunched over and is pretty steady until he tries to "stand up". We used to hold his hands and he'd go from laying down to sitting to standing, now sometimes when he's sitting he just straightens his legs and body like he's going to stand up but instead just plops over. If he has a toy to hold his attention in front of him he's pretty steady!

In music class last week we played with silk scarfs and who would've known how awesome they are for babies! Cruz loved the scarf so I searched for my own silk scarfs to play with at home. He gets such a calm yet excited look on his face when the scarf brushes over his face.

He is so sweet and such a little smiler these days! I'm so excited to share all these new videos with you and the smiles are actually showing up more in pictures and in the videos!!

Strong Boy

Spring Training

The weather has been great here in AZ. It has been so nice to just be outside and soak up the warm sunny rays! I moved Cruz's saucer outside one afternoon to enjoy a nice lunch on the patio. He was full of smiles (and drool)!

This weekend Liliy and Kenny came to visit. Kenny, Liliy and Mario hit up a Dodgers spring training game on Friday night and then Cruz and I joined them Saturday afternoon for a Angels/Brewers game. It was Cruz's first baseball game and to be PC it was neither Dodger's or Red Sox!

We tried out our baby backpack for a quick walk Sunday afternoon. Cruz is still a little small for it so we just went on a little "hike" to give it a whirl! He enjoyed it for about 10 minutes then fell asleep, oh well! Soon we'll be hiking mountains with the little explorer!!

Cruz is starting to smile and laugh more. I don't have to tickle him to get a chuckle, if he's in the mood sometimes he'll just laugh at my face or something funny I say. For now I just spend my days trying to make him laugh and the second he does I crack up too! He's still working on sitting up and is doing pretty well if he has something in front of him to hold his attention.
My little monkey's getting so big ;o)
Happy Birthday Grandpa!!
