Hanging with my friends

So much fun to have more friends come visit and meet Cruz! Meaghan was here in town from Colorado. She works with Mario so was here for work and we were lucky enough to have her at our house for a night filled with good food, dance-offs and of course some Cruz time!! Cruz was showing off for Meaghan and showed her how he tries to sit up now.

This morning we went for our 4 month appointment to the doctors. My little chubber now weighs 15lbs 7.5oz. .5 more ounces and he will be double his birth weight! I'll give that a day or two ;o)

Tomorrow is swim lesson number two. I hope it goes as well as the first! I know I'm excited!!

It was a cold weekend in AZ

It was a cold and rainy weekend here in Phoenix! Fortunately that didn't stop us from having a wonderful time! Marguerite and Tim were in town from Folsom, CA for a soccer tournament(unfortunately for them the weather did effect their weekend). Mario was able to go see one of Tim's games on Saturday morning but the afternoon one was rained out. Marguerite and Tim came over for dinner on Saturday night and to visit and meet Cruz. We had such a nice visit with them and some wonderful berry pie!!

Sunday we took a trip to the Aquarium with our friends Rene, Adam, Austen and Stella. We hadn't seen them in a couple months so again, so nice to catch up and visit. The aquarium was great since I love underwater life and visiting with friends was fabulous!

Now it is time to lay my head on my pillow as I'm exhausted from our busy exciting weekend. I need to get the sleep while I can!!

Exploring his voice

Well apparently Cruz loves to be naked!! He has the most fun and the most giggles right before bath time or before we change for bed. Thought this was too cute not to share, it's a little wiggly as I was trying to film it and make him laugh but it works!! He has been squealing a lot and talking a lot too! He is shy (somehow) so it's been hard for me to capture that on video but I will continue to try!

Cruz and I had our first swim class yesterday! It was a lot of fun and there was no fussing! As usual he was very serious and just stared at people and things in his new environment. I will get a smile out of him someday and we will keep swimming until it happens!! On a more positive note he did crack a smile at story time this week, that's a first in the 2 months we've been going. Maybe he's recognizing the room and faces so feels a little more comfortable!

Cruz turns 4 months next week so we will have his new and updated stats to share, weight, height etc! I'm excited to see how much he weighs because he's getting heavy!

Sick Day

Cruz had his first cold this weekend. Of course it started Friday after 5 so we couldn't take him to the doctors, ah, what a new parent to do!! We figured out some things and realized that suctioning a babies nose is like the worst thing you will have to do, boo! I was so excited that he had made some friends at story time last week and was playing with them so I guess I should've expected this since at his age all they do is put things in their mouth and then leave it for the next little one. Oh well, it was bound to happen and throughout it all he was a super trooper!! He handled it like a champ and is still working hard to fight off the germs!!

On another note Cruz has figured out how to splash in the bath! We had a bath last night and for the first time there was more water on the bathroom floor than was in the tub when we were finished. I know I said I couldn't wait for that so I deserve it but it was like a tidal wave named Cruz!! It was cute! Next time I'll have Mario video it since Cruz loves video's (NOT)!
